"Every day, all day, you are a Sower of Seed, sowing seeds through your words and your actions."
Sowing seeds may be an unfamiliar term for you. If I say, "planting seeds" instead, you can probably visualize making holes in the dirt, either by hand or by a tool or through using heavy machinery; then placing tiny seeds into the prepared soil. Sowing in this context is planting seeds directly into the soil. If you are not a farmer or a gardener, you may not think of yourself as a Sower of Seed--but you are. Every day, all day, you are a Sower of Seed, sowing seeds through your words and your actions. So, let me ask you: What kind of seeds are you planting right now?
You may not put much value on the Bible as a book, but I'll tell you, anyway: The proverbial phrase, You reap what you sow, comes from the Bible. It's a divine principle. If you plant apple seeds, you're going to get apple trees; if you plant tomato seeds, you're going to harvest tomatoes.
"Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap." Galatians 6:7

Spiritually speaking, if you speak angry words, you'll become angry or make others angry. If you do kind deeds, your seeds of kindness will have a positive effect--however short-lived--like shooting an arrow into a bulls-eye on a target. Now I'll ask you this: What would you like to reap from your planting, dear, Sower of Seed?
Your Life Journey Reflects Seeds Sown / Seeds Grown
So let's make this more real for us. The seeds we're talking about are life choices that you and others have been sowing into your life since the time of your birth. Because we're all broken, some of those choices have caused us intense pain and created emotional baggage for us to carry. As each year comes, it becomes more and more difficult to drag the load from the past, carry the load of the present, and fend off fears for the future. It's no wonder that the circuits of our mind and emotions get short-circuited, when the paths of our lives have become a weedy and tangled impasse.
Is there an answer for such a predicament?
THE Sower of Sowers - God Himself
To the Christian Sower of Seed
Dear Christian brother or sister, we all sow bad seed, from time to time. When we're not careful, we react badly in situations. Our Christian witness becomes smeared when we bring a holier than thou attitude to others, and then sling the ugliest of seeds. I've been this version of a Sower of Seed. Not only was my seed ugly; I was an ugly representation of beautiful Jesus.
Help! I've sown bad seed.
These ugly seeds are pulled up through prayers of repentance before God, where we can ask Him to undo the harmful seeds we have sown. That can be done in the exact moment after we've flung out the ugly seeds. The next action to negate the power of the undesirable seeds is to humbly ask forgiveness, without excuse, of the one in whose face the ugly seeds were thrown. This wonderful Scripture has become so meaningful to me in interacting with difficult people in difficult situations:
"If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all." Romans 12:18
Oh, Christian Sower of Seed, sow good seeds that you and God would be pleased to harvest.
The How-to of Sowing Good Seeds
The above verse means that the Christian Sower of Seed can choose to sow good seed, peace-producing seed, into even hard, weed-infested ground. Seek God before sowing your seed. With His blessing, your seed holds great potential to produce good results. May God help us all be Sowers of Good Seed.
Sowing good seed in prayer
You've probably heard the term: Prayers Move Mountains. What exactly does that mean, and how does that happen? Is it the one who prays that moves mountains; or is the power in the prayer itself? Or is the power found in the Hearer of the prayer?
I will submit to you that power is released through every action of prayer.
The pray-er, the person who prays, can become a Sower of Seed. That person has a belief--however small that seed of faith--that what they are praying will be heard by someone [God] who can answer that prayer. The Sower of plant seeds cannot cause life to spring out from his seeds; but that sower of seed starts the process toward the harvest.
The prayer itself, prayed in faith, directed toward God, the One Who has the power to answer prayer, is energized by the trust that God is listening and He will respond to the request. Scripture records the encounter this way:
"And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw hear to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him." Hebrews 11:6
Sowing good seed in actions
May I be a Sower of Seed into your life?
God, the foremost Sower of Seed and the Grower of Seeds Planted, sowed The Seed that would save all who would believe.
The harvest is great. Beseech the Lord of the Harvest to send laborers out into the field, ripe for harvest. "Lord, send me."
